Voting and elections

Secret ballots for general assemblies and elections

Members vote on their own phone, in the room or from abroad. No app to install, no login, and no name on the ballot.

Two ways to vote, one count

Members in the room and members following remotely vote in the same session.

  • In the room

Your staff check each member at the door and hand them an anonymous QR card. The member scans it with their own phone and votes.

  • From anywhere

Each member gets a personal link by email that works once, so members abroad can vote while the meeting runs.

On the day

Everything the chair and the room need to see, from the first scan to the result.

  • A live turnout counter for the projector, with quorum tracking
  • Yes or no articles and multi-seat elections on the same ballot, with an abstain option
  • Arabic, right to left, and English
  • An automatic tally, with winners and ties flagged
  • A public results page once the count is done, with a link to share

The ballot stays secret

  • Ballots store no name, account or IP address.
  • Voting codes are stored only as hashes.
  • Each code votes once. The server enforces it, and a second scan shows the vote is already recorded.

The count can be checked

  • Every voter gets a receipt code to find their own ballot in the published results.
  • When voting closes, the full set of ballots is sealed with a SHA‑256 hash.

Used at real general assemblies

The Lebanese Order of Psychologists holds its general assemblies on it, with members voting in the room, and members abroad voting by emailed link while they follow on Zoom. Before a live vote, we load-tested it with the whole membership scanning within five seconds, without an error.

Questions about voting

Do we need Odoo?

No. It is built on Odoo, and it can run on a voting site of its own.

Is the vote anonymous?

Ballots carry no name, account or IP address. Anonymity also depends on the organizer keeping no record of which member received which card. For emailed links, the list of who received which link exists until it is deleted.

Does the system check who is voting?

No. In the room, your staff check each member at the door before handing over a card, and whoever holds a card can vote. Remote links go to each member's own email address.

Should members share their receipt?

No. A receipt shows how that ballot was counted, so it is for the voter alone.

Is the result legally valid?

Your statutes, and the law that applies to you, decide what makes a vote valid. Tell us how your vote must run, and we will tell you how the system fits.

Have a vote coming up?

Tell us the date, roughly how many members, and whether they vote in the room, remotely or both.
